TabRider listens to your guitar through your device’s microphone and follows along with the score, note by note. Play an exercise and it tells you which notes you hit, how close to the beat you were, and how well you held them.
The app isn’t hearing my guitar.
Notes are marked as missed even though I played them.
Which files can I import into My Library?
Guitar Pro 6 files only — the .gpx format. Older Guitar Pro files (.gp3,
.gp4, .gp5) and Guitar Pro 7 files (.gp) are not supported; open
them in Guitar Pro and export as .gpx first.
Built-in exercises are checked before they ship. Your own files are read as-is, so a file using unusual notation may show wrong bar lengths, drift against the metronome, or fail to open. That is a limit of the import, not a problem with your file.
Why is an exercise locked?
Within a level, the first row of exercises is always open and later rows unlock as you collect stars — 5, then 15, then 30. If you would rather go straight to a piece, turn on Settings → Unlock all content. Your stars and scores are unaffected either way.
How is my score calculated?
Each graded run scores three things: whether you played the right note, how close to the beat you played it, and how well you sustained it. 60 % earns one star, 75 % two, and 90 % three. Practice runs are never scored or saved.
Did I lose my progress?
The exercise catalogue is still growing, and exercises can be added, changed or removed in an update — when that happens, scores attached to affected exercises may be lost. Files you imported yourself are not affected.
